The Lord's Prayer

My prayer life has never been great...or even good. It's just been -- well, there. So I've been wanting to change. It's been hard for me to change my prayer life because of how angry I am with God. I will write an entire post for my "story" tomorrow. For now, I leave you with the Lord's prayer, which I will post several times throughout this blogging journey. I will post this passage because Jesus tells us in the Gospel of Matthew that this is how we are to pray.
.
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep babbling on like pagans for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, because your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Then this is how you should pray:
.
'Our Father,
Which art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done on Earth,
As it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil;
For Thine is the Kingdom,
And the Power,
And the Glory, forever.
Amen.'"
.
Thanks for praying with me.
Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend.

PS. I forgot to include that I will post a Bible verse with each prayer everyday. This is from Matthew 6:5-13.
